Eight staff to transfer as part of the deal
Brokerbility member Alan & Thomas Insurance Group has bought Emery Little Insurance Brokers.
Emery Little, based in Salisbury and Eastbourne, is a specialist aviation, SME and personal lines broker. It started operating in 1971.
The deal will net Alan & Thomas eight new staff members, who will remain at Emery Little’s Salisbury and Eastbourne offices and be inducted into their new parent company.
Alan & Thomas will also inherit a “substantial” book of aviation clients as well as adding a number of new commercial and personal clients to its list.
“This news is a great way to end the first quarter of 2012,” Alan & Thomas managing director Julian Boughton said in a statement. “The added expertise that the acquisition gives us in aviation insurance fits perfectly not only with our strategy to create specialist divisions within our business but also compliments our high net worth personal insurance offering.”
He added: “We will be working with former owner Nik Little and his team over the coming months and beyond to provide a seamless transition for clients.”
