The Broker Network and the Broker Alliance have formed a partnership to provide a forum for sharing ideas on best practice.

The two will meet to discuss industry topics such as information technology, regulation and compliance, product development, risk management, training, marketing and market intelligence.

The Broker Network represents more than 80 of the UK's independent brokers, while the Broker Alliance was formed in 1997 to bring six of Yorkshire's biggest brokers and insurers together.

Network managing director Grant Ellis said keeping abreast of industry trends and developments was vital if the network's members were to stay ahead of competitors.

“With our combined membership, there are numerous examples of best practice for us to draw on,” he said.

“This new partnership provides a forum for the sharing of such information and expertise,” he added.

Alliance chairman Paul Meehan said the partnership between the two organisations broke new ground.

He said: “We see this link with the Broker Network as a very exciting development, which will deliver real benefits for us and added value for our clients.”
