K Drewe boss expands role at Lloyd’s insurer

Canopius has installed K Drewe boss Douglas Young as its new head of distribution for the group’s UK retail insurance division. 

Young is currently managing director of wholesale leisure specialist K Drewe Insurance Brokers, which was acquired by Canopius in March 2011. 

Young will be responsible for developing of the group’s distribution capabilities across its UK retail business lines.

Young will report to UK retail chief executive Tim Rolfe, who said: “Douglas has considerable experience in the regional UK insurance broking industry. 

“His skills and knowledge will be invaluable as we implement our plans to drive profitable growth across a variety of classes and channels, with an emphasis on specialist business.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
