Lloyd’s insurer Canopius’s UK retail chief executive Tim Rolfe has decided to leave the company at the end of March.

Rolfe spent five years at the insurer, which was recently rebranded Sompo Canopius following its acquisition by Japanese insurer Sompo Japan. He joined the company in September 2010, having previously served as chief executive of underwriting agency UK General.

Before that he worked at Aviva for 24 years in a variety of roles.

Sompo Canopius declined to comment on who will replace Rolfe.

Sompo Canopius group chief executive Stuart Davies said in a statement: “I am very grateful to Tim for his significant contributions over many years and I wish him every success for the future.”
