Dr. Steve Smith is now president of Property Solutions for ReAdvisory
Carvill, a reinsurance intermediary in specialty reinsurance, has announced that Dr. Steve Smith has been promoted to president of Property Solutions for ReAdvisory, Carvill’s analytical arm.
ReAdvisory’s Property Solutions has been created to provide a dedicated support team to both brokers and property and retrocessional clients, offering a more focused service.
Smith will lead a team whose primary focus will be Carvill’s Hurricane Index, which was listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 2007.
“I am delighted to assume this new role, which has been created to provide increased support to our clients and build a more tailored service for those in the property sector,” said Dr. Smith.
Bill Adamson, head of ReAdvisory, said: “This promotion recognizes Steve’s accomplishments in development of the futures and options contracts with the CME. With Steve leading ReAdvisory’s property division I am confident that our clients can look forward to an increasingly valuable service in 2008 and beyond.”
Smith has been with Carvill since 2004 assuming responsibility for leading their catastrophe modeling efforts and aiding in the development for ReAdvisory models and products.
