CDL, the insurance software house, has released a management information tool that enables insurance companies and brokers to analyse and exploit large volumes of data.

The ‘Big Data’ solution, already used by companies including BSkyB, Virgin Media and Carphone Warehouse, provides insurance retailers with a computer dashboard tool that can integrate internal and external data in order to derive business analytics.

CDL commercial director Nigel Phillips said: “CDL’s focus has always been on creating software for high-volume retail operations, typically with serious growth ambitions and a requirement for real-time business analytics to identify trends and optimise decision-making.

“Our largest clients each generate over 1 million online quotes per day, primarily through price comparison websites, and we have over 100 million journeys recorded on the CDL trip database for telematics. We therefore felt it was crucial that we invest in a Big Data solution that allows businesses to harness, integrate and exploit their data effectively.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
