Nick Grazier is brought in from AXA Art

Chartis UK has promoted Ann Owen to worldwide vice president, private client group, responsible for all High Net Worth business outside the USA and Canada, and Nick Grazier has been recruited to succeed her as vice president of the UK business.

“This is a very exciting time for the HNW sector” said Owen, “despite the tougher economic climate. Clients still have substantial portfolios that need protection, and we are seeing growing demand in a number of alternative asset classes such as wine.

“We will be using the global strength of the Chartis International network to expand our HNW offering into new markets. We currently have six Private Client Group offices outside of the US, and will be looking to grow that substantially in the medium term.

"There are a significant number of countries where there are no specialist providers of HNW products for homes, art collections, high value cars or yachts, despite having a large population of wealthy individuals. We believe that our expertise and experience in the specialist sector will be particularly welcomed in those places, in addition to those countries with an established HNW market.

“We are pleased that Nick has joined Chartis to lead the UK Private Client Group. In the seven year’s since its creation, the group has made great strides and he is ideally placed to take the business to the next level.”

Grazier, who has joined from AXA Art where he was head of marketing and distribution said: “The Chartis HNW proposition is a very strong one, and I am delighted to be joining the team at a time when there is so much potential. Building on the existing model we will look to enhance and innovate what we offer and how we deliver it, providing a business that truly reflects the changing needs of both the broker and the end customer.”
