Maria Fahy will join Chaucer Syndicate 1084 to underwrite excess of loss business.

Chaucer has appointed Maria Fahy as international property treaty underwriter for Chaucer Syndicate 1084. In her new role, Maria joins Nick Benardout, international property treaty underwriter, to underwrite international excess of loss business.

Fahy joins Chaucer from Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited, where she spent six years as senior underwriter for International Treaty. Fahy has worked exclusively in the London treaty market for over 20 years, for companies including LIMIT Syndicate 566 and Hartford Re.

Fahy said: “I look forward to working with the team to help develop existing international treaty accounts and using my experience and contacts in the London market to establish new relationships for Chaucer Syndicate 1084.”

Ed Lines, head of property division, Syndicate 1084 added: “Maria has excellent technical skills and has a broad range of international treaty underwriting experience. She will bring added diversity to an already well established property business portfolio and I am extremely pleased to welcome her to the team.”
