Move to complete on 1 January 2009

Chubb Europe has unveiled plans to redomicle it operations to the UK.

The insurer, which has a network in a number of European countries, is based in Belgium.

However, from 1 January 2009 Chubb Europe will run its operations from London.

In a statement the company said: "Chubb considers it appropriate to align its operational head office with its registered office. This is supported by the Belgian regulator, the CBFA.

"Subject to regulatory approvals, Chubb Europe will set up an Financial Services Authority authorised and regulated insurance company in the UK ready to trade from 1 January 2009. The new UK company will take over all the liabilities, assets (including capital), staff and infrastructure from CICE SA.

"CICE SA will be then be dissolved and de-authorised from 31 December 2008. The company will remain a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chubb Corporation and retain the same financial strength ratings.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
