CNA Insurance Company has appointed Mark Beattie to the newly-created role of european underwriting director for its property and casualty business.

Beattie will take up his new role immediately and will report to CNA chief underwriting officer for commercial lines business Paul Dowling.

Beattie was previously QBE Insurance (Europe) portfolio manager for international property.

CNA Europe chief executive John Hennessy said: "Mark’s underwriting experience in the UK and internationally, as well as his managerial skills, made him the obvious choice for this role. Our entire senior team is looking forward to working with Mark as we grow our property and casualty offering throughout Europe.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
