Justin Godman hired as casualty underwriting manager

CNA Europe has hired former Chartis underwriter Justin Godman as casualty underwriting manager.

He reports to CNA Europe’s European property and casualty underwriting director Mark Beattie.

Before joining CNA Godman was regional underwriting manager for Chartis, managing a team of underwriters in the south east region and holding responsibility for the casualty account, comprising both UK and multinational business.

Before this, Godman spent seven years at Allianz in various underwriting and sales roles. He has also held underwriting positions at Zurich Commercial.

Beattie said of Godman’s appointment: “With more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, Justin brings significant underwriting skills and managerial experience to the London team as well as excellent broker relationships.

“Justin is responsible for driving our London casualty business forward during 2012 and beyond, with emphasis on profitable growth in our chosen specialist areas.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
