As the current conflict between Israel and Lebanon continues, Aon Marine has noted that there has been a sudden hike in rates.

A spokesperson said: "As governments seek to evacuate their expatriates in Lebanon, the London market has begun to price cover in preparation for vessels entering the region. Now it's a case of waiting for the vessels to arrive and for the Israeli government to lift the blockade.

"Lebanon is an excluded area for hull war risks so evacuation vessels will be charged an additional premium. As a result of the conflict there has been a sudden hike in rates from last week 0.1% to 0.25% today."
