Many high achievers have walked through the halls of the CII but likely none as decorated or respected as the Dalai Lama.
In an event held at the CII headquarters and hosted by the London Metropolitan University, the Dalai Lama was presented with a honorary doctorate in philosophy and told a crowd of more than 200 that education and compassion were key to happiness.
