Move follows growth in apprenticeships in financial services sector.

The CII Group has awarded accreditation to Skills Solutions, one of the largest apprenticeship training providers in the UK and the first of only a handful of training organisations that offer both insurance and financial services apprenticeships.

Caspar Bartington, CII Relationship Manager for Further and Higher Education, said the accreditation comes at the right time for the sector. He said: “The successful application by Skills Solutions gives a wide range of employers across the North of England a clear signal that here is an experienced and expert training organisation aligning itself with the CII. As the uptake of apprenticeships continues to expand in insurance and wider financial services sectors, I have no doubt that high quality accredited providers such as Skills Solutions will be sought after."

Commenting on being the latest organisation to receive Accredited Provider status, Programme Manager for Financial Services at Skills Solutions Glenys Clarke, said: "We are delighted to have achieved the CII’s provider accreditation. Skills Solutions have been working closely with the CII for many years and achieving the accreditation will certainly enhance the relationship further, bringing benefits to employers and learners."

Susan Wood, Commercial Training Team Leader at Swinton Insurance, added: "'We are really pleased with how well we are working with Skills Solutions. The apprenticeship programme gives us an ideal combination of providing those employees involved with 'real life' commercial broking experience and the opportunity to achieve a recognised qualification."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
