Peter Matcham promoted to re-launch broker’s aviation division

Dorset-based broker Alan & Thomas Insurance Group has promoted Peter Matcham to head of aviation insurance.

He will be based at Alan & Thomas’s Poole head office and oversee the re-launch of the broker’s aviation division.

Matcham will initially undertake a business review and create a development plan for the aviation unit.

This will be followed by the re-launch, which Alan & Thomas says will have “a clear strategy for improvement and additional development areas”.

Matcham has more than 18 years’ broking experience, seven of which have been spent in Alan & Thomas’s commercial division. He is also a trained pilot.

Alan & Thomas chief executive Julian Boughton said: “Peter has been an important part of the development team at A&T for some years now and has demonstrated many of the skills and competencies required for the aviation role.

“These skills, combined with Peter’s knowledge of the aviation industry, made him the stand-out candidate for the position.”

Matcham added: “Aviation is a long-standing passion of mine after having first learnt to fly at the age of 15.

“I have always kept up-to-date with developments in the sector and appreciate the challenges facing pilots, aircraft owners and businesses in today’s market. I am looking forward to developing the division with insurers and other strategic partners.”
