DUAL looks to expand regional networks and increase PI business.

London-based DUAL Corporate Risks has made two key appointments as it looks to consolidate and grow its regional networks and increase its scope to write professional indemnity business across the UK.

John Stagg has been named business development manager for the south, while Chris Wargent has been named professional indemnity underwriter.

Managing director Russell Kilpatrick said: “We are keen to expand regionally in strategic centres and while we’ve been operating successfully in the southwest for some time, with John on board we can enhance our level of service to existing brokers and bring DUAL’s experience and innovative approach to risk to a wider pool of businesses in the region.”

He added: “PI is another key growth area for us. The experience that Chris brings to us will be of great help to Chris Fletton and his team in ensuring that we have underwriting strength and depth to service new and existing clients, both regionally and in London.”

Stagg joins from Fusion Insurance, where he was case management coordinator specialising in commercial combined business and responsible for business development. He also spent five years in a similar role at Bristol-based Alexander Forbes.

Meanwhile, Wargent spent the last four years at Beazley as a professional indemnity underwriter and has strong experience in both underwriting and claims. He was headhunted by Beazley from HCC, previously Dickson Manchester, where he worked since 2000.

Stagg said: “It is brilliant to have the chance to join DUAL. The role gives me a great opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic and innovative business and have ownership for the next stage of regional growth.”

Wargent added: “This is a really exciting time for DUAL. With the help of the recent investment in the Hyperion Group by 3i, the business is going from strength to strength and it’s a great chance for me to make my mark.”

Part of the Hyperion Insurance Group, DUAL International is a specialist underwriting agency and provider of liability insurance to the mid-market business sector. Its capacity is provided by Arch Europe.
