The English Community Care Association (ECCA) has appointed Howden Insurance Brokers as the preferred broker for its care provider members.

ECCA is the largest representative body for community care in the country. Howden will work with ECCA, its members and insurers to develop products and help them with risk management.

Howden senior practitioner Joy Howson will lead the relationship with ECCA members.

Howden executive director Lance Rigby said: “ECCA’s objective is to create an environment in which providers can continue to deliver and develop the high quality care that communities require. We will work in partnership with ECCA in pursuit of this objective by helping educate members on risk and insurance and by working with insurers to help them better understand the unique risks presented by the sector.”

ECCA chief executive Martin Green said: “The Howden team knows the care home sector inside out and has many years’ experience providing insurance products to meet its specialist needs.”
