Tony Bloomer has been appointed as manager of Ecclesiastical Insurance's Birmingham regional underwriting centre.

Bloomer joins the team from Ecclesiastical's Gloucester head office where he was divisional marketing manager.

Prior to joining Ecclesiastical in 2004, Bloomer was head of marketing and business development at Hill House Hammond.

Bloomer commented: “Birmingham is a major UK insurance centre, so I'm looking forward to being right in the thick of things. We've got a very strong team of expert underwriters in Birmingham so I'm looking forward to working with brokers to build business – particularly in our niche areas of charities, schools, care homes and heritage properties.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
