Ecclesiastical names boss for Irish business

Ecclesiastical has appointed David Lane as the new managing director of its Ireland business.

Lane has joined from global financial security company Genworth Financial where he was most recently the managing director, Western Europe for the lifestyle protection business.

He will report directly to group chief executive Michael Tripp and will join the Ecclesiastical Group executive team in January.

Tripp said: “Despite continuing tough trading conditions in the Irish insurance market, Ecclesiastical Ireland is weathering well and has achieved significant growth in its target markets over the last few years. We have ambitious plans for our Irish business and David will play a critical role in delivering these plans with an extremely professional and dedicated team.

“David brings with him a wealth of both financial services and management experience, which will greatly support our ongoing efforts to become one of Ireland’s leading specialist insurers.”
