Fran Burgess, chief executive of Zing365, flags why she believes her business should win the Excellence in Professional Development category at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards

Explain briefly about your entry in the Excellence in Professional Development category.

We have been providing compliance, technical and soft skills training to the insurance industry for 23 years. Our unique live learning proposition combines the best aspects of instructor led and traditional e-learning to provide learners with options to complete their continuing professional development (CPD).

We wanted to offer an alternative to the uninspiring modules everyone must complete annually, while also providing relevant sessions covering hot topics, industry updates, technical training and business skills.

We strongly believe that as a training provider, we have a responsibility to ensure we are fully inclusive and providing training that is accessible to all - this includes neurodiverse learners.

It’s not acceptable that mandatory learning is often only available in a single format when learners have a need for more interactive, visual or auditory training. Our sessions are relevant, engaging and interactive.

Traditional e-learning is usually reactive, with a delay between industry and regulatory change and training being available. If a regulatory change is relevant to the industry, we can react almost instantly.

What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?

We are a specialist, forward-thinking training company and our live learning proposition is unique. No other provider gives their learners a fully inclusive service and options to complete their mandatory learning in their preferred style.

What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Winning the award would be an amazing affirmation of our innovative and inclusive approach to mandatory learning.
