Research shows brokers want more products

Evolution Underwriting has produced a new directors’ and officers’ (D&O) package after research showed that brokers wanted increased protection for their customers.

Evolution surveyed 4,000 brokers across the country which revealed that SME managers wanted greater protection because of the heightened risk of claims.

AIG UK helped develop the package, called Directors and Officers Protector, and will provide capacity to the commercial underwriting agency. It will provide broad cover for health and safety, and corporate manslaughter claims.

Evolution chief executive Paul Upton said: “With 40,000 employees estimated to lose their jobs each month this year it is not hard to see why claims for unfair, wrongful or constructive dismissal are rapidly increasing.

“Business managers are naturally anxious about the situation and the Directors and Officers Protector package has been designed to provide the assurance they need through its ability to provide wide-ranging cover with very few exclusions.”
