Lloyd's broker FirstCity has hired a team of six account executives from the defunct Solicitors Indemnity Fund (SIF) to handle queries for its new online service.
The new web service targets law practices with up to three partners, which make up approximately three-quarters of the firms in the UK.
FirstCity director Kelvin Curran said: "They were the best aspect of SIF – cover and contributions professionals who could simplify complex calculations and advise on cover issues.
"Allied to the latest ecommerce technology and our broking expertise, solicitors will have a sensible insurance option."
FirstCity service will go live on July 1.
