New baby...

My wife and I have just had a new baby, Millie, who is now seven weeks old. She is a late addition to my 14 and 16 year old daughters. I'm hoping it's true that children keep you young since I'll now have to work until I'm 90!

Motor fan...

I've always been a car nut and dream of a garage stocked with E-types and classic Ferraris. For the moment I've made a start with a Triumph Stag - a four seater convertible from the 1970's, once credited with being the most unreliable car ever made. Fortunately mine seems to have had all the dodgy bits fixed and has never let me down. Having bought it with plans for family summer outings my elder daughters refuse to travel in it because top down mode messes up their hair!

Rock-et man...

My brother in law is the manager of a rock group called The Enemy, who have had a number one hit recently. My eldest daughter thinks tickets on the guest list and back stage passes are super cool.

Young apprentice...

I became a Loss Adjuster in 1981 at the age of 18, immediately after leaving sixth form. That's unusual because most recruits join from an insurance company, or broker. At the time Robins Fletcher in Yorkshire ran what amounted to an apprenticeship, where new recruits shadowed partners who were dealing with big losses. After leaving in 1995 I rejoined GAB Robins as chief operating officer in 2007.

Celeb spotter...

Travel is one of my passions. On our last holiday to the West coast of the USA I was sat next to Samuel L. Jackson in the BA lounge at Terminal 5. My kids were slightly less impressed that later the same holiday I awoke from a post lunch nap to find myself sharing a pool side cabana with the ITV racing pundit, John McCririck!
