Scrum half…

As a Scot it’s only natural that my first sport is rugby where I've at last seen sense and stopped playing, although it did take a broken thumb to get me to that point! I get much more now from coaching my son's U14 team at North Dorset, which I've done for the last 8 years.

National honours…

My daughter's (more expensive!) sport is horse riding, where Fiona's done really well and, with her pony, will be representing Great Britain in her first dressage international this month. Quite a thing when your little girl represents her country.

Sporting heroes…

My sporting heroes have to be Scottish - Bill Shankly (Liverpool's greatest manager) and Kenny Dalgleish (their greatest player). Chris Hoy's no slouch either!
