Move part of drive to become major affinity player

Fortis has named Allison Sutton as head of affinity underwriting. The appointment is part of the insurer's strategy to establish itself as a major force in the affinity and partnerships market.

Allison brings with her a wealth of experience in both underwriting and broking. In her new role, Allison is responsible for managing the performance and profitable development of Fortis’ motor and household affinity accounts, including the development of new products in line with client requirements.

Commenting on her new role, Allison said:
“Fortis is recognised as a dynamic company with solid experience in underwriting for profit. As a company they work hard to understand their corporate clients, making sure their proposition isn’t one that is merely taken off the shelf - they always offer a tailored offering.”

Paul Chaplain, Underwriting Director at Fortis, adds:
“Allison is a great asset to our team; she has a huge amount of insurance market and underwriting experience and this will be used to further strengthen Fortis’ products and propositions to firmly establish our position in the affinity area.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
