The FSA announced the new members of its Financial Capability Steering Group, which is to develop and implement a national strategy for financial capability.

The Steering Group's objective will be to provide consumers with the education, information and generic advice needed to make financial decisions.

The Steering group members are:
· John Tiner, FSA (chairman)
· Luqman Arnold, chief executive, Abbey National
· David Clementi, chairman, Prudential
· John Gummer, chairman, Association of Independent
Financial Advisers
· David Harker, chief executive, Citizen's Advice
· Dierdre Hutton, chair, National Consumer Council
· Digby Jones, director general, Confederation of
British Industry
· Ruth Kelly, financial secretary to the Treasury
· Ron Sandler, chairman, Personal Finance Education
Group
