A guide to this week's movements in the insurance industry

Marsh
Marsh has expanded its business continuity management team in its Risk Consulting Practice across the UK with three appointments.

Helen Sunderland joins Marsh in Manchester as a consultant, delivering business continuity training, tools and templates while also developing business impact analyses and continuity plans. Sunderland previously worked as an internal business continuity consultant for Scottish Power.

Paul Robertson joins Marsh's Milton Keynes office from Adtapt, a business continuity and crisis management company, where he was a senior consultant.

Robertson's role as a business development consultant at Marsh will be to tailor solutions to provide continuity capability and improve clients' resilience to business interruption.

Heather Wilson joins Marsh as a business development consultant based in Reading and will be responsible for relationship management across a wide range of clients. Wilson has spent the past three years as sales and marketing director of the Change Company.

FMW
Richard Goldstone has joined Essex based brokers FMW as a claims handler. Goldstone started his career as a claims handler in 1993 with Lion Insurance and has since worked at Norwich Union and Ensign Motor Policies.

Carvill
Reinsurance broker Carvill has announced that Patrick Gonnelli has moved to Carvill's Bermuda office as senior vice president. He joined the firm's New York office in June 2005 as a senior vice president with Carvill America.

John Holman
Lloyd's broker John Holman has made a number of appointments in its London market operation.

Paul Ducat now heads up the professional risks dept. He has over 16 years' UK and international experience in the industry. Professional risks has been further strengthened by the appointment of Alan Gubbay and Marie MacKenzie, both formerly of Heath's, while Simone Hardy has earned promotion to placing broker to handle increased involvement in D&O and financial institutions risks.

Nick Cook has rejoined the liability and property solutions team as lead property broker and Martin Curzey has moved from JLT to take up the position of lead liability broker. Ben Jackson has been promoted internally and takes up the position of supporting broker.

Insurer

Groupama
Groupama Insurances has appointed Allison Andrews head of partnership solutions. She moves up from her previous position as strategic account manager and she will lead the company's growing business activities with major brokers, affinity groups, corporate partners and consumer brands.

Illium
Illium Managing Agency has appointed a new regional underwriter, Chris Ashmead, who will be based at the group's existing office in Bridgend. Ashmead joins Illium from AXA Insurance where he had been focusing on building relationships with brokers throughout South Wales and the South West.
