FMW has appointed Wayne Blundell as a trainee account handler.
Blundell previously worked as an insurance underwriter at Adrian Flux.
Glencairn has appointed Darren Norris as associate partner in its marine cargo and fine art and specie unit.
Norris, who has 17 years' industry experience, joins from Aon, where he was head of its marine cargo Americas division.
Heath Lambert has appointed Matthew Bates as sales and development director of Heath Lambert National.
Bates has been with Heath Lambert for almost 20 years and is also the managing director of Heath Lambert Risk Management.
He will be supported in the role by executive director David Ghiglieri, who was formerly in charge of the group's Brierley Hill office.
NBJ has appointed Paul Bishop in the new role of sales and marketing manager.
Bishop will spearhead the commercial new business team as part of NBJ's growth strategy.
Bishop joins from HBOS, where he led a senior management team developing sales for four years.
THB has appointed Peter Slade as compliance officer for THB and THB Risk Solutions. Slade is also a director at THB.
Expat insurance provider William Russell has appointed David Herratt to run its Asia Pacific office and Hong Kong operations.
Herratt, who previously worked as a risk advisor at Lloyd's, has over 12 years' experience of working in Hong Kong, including six years with Skandia International as general manager.
Brit has appointed Mike Smith to head up its expanding technical wordings team.
Smith joins from Marsh Global Broking, where he was senior vice president and director of wordings.
Hardy Underwriting Group
Hardy Underwriting Group has appointed David Mann as a non-executive director.
Mann has been on the board of Hardy Underwriting Agencies since November 2004.
Legal & General
Legal & General has promoted Jane Dale to managing director of its general insurance operations from 1 July subject to FSA approval.
Dale, who was previously managing director of group risk, replaces Ian Viney. Viney will now run Legal & General's life insurance joint venture in Egypt.
Dale's successor at group risk will be Simon Gadd.
Evershed has appointed Shaun Slack as claims management director.
Slack joins from Hill Dickinson, where he was head of claims.
DAS has appointed Paul Gibson as director of finance.
Gibson previously worked at BCWA Healthcare, where he held the same position.
Finsure has appointed Peter Johnson as head of operations.
Based in Peterborough, Johnson will have overall responsibility for Finsure's personal (covering London and Peterborough) and commercial business.
Johnson joins from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was head of systems engineering and staff support and development for the cash and ATM business.
Software Solutions Partners has appointed Adrian Coupland to the new role of insurer relationships manager of its business network Key Choice.
Coupland joins from Misys Insurance Management, where he was insurer relations executive.
Medico-legal agency Medreport has appointed Shane Beldham to the new post of business development manager.
Beldham previously worked in the insurance claims sector and developed medico-legal reporting business nationwide for Reid Minty Solicitors and through his own freelance business.
Claire Jasper has joined insurance consultancy Concordia with special responsibility for international assignments.
Jasper previously worked at Resolve International and CTC in a similar capacity.
Melanie Davies and Shelley Mckeown have joined Search Consultancy's Birmingham operation from Kelly's Insurance and Verridan Recruitment respectively.
Allison Marshall, who joined Search Birmingham in 2004, has taken responsibility for managing the insurance and financial services divisions within the Midlands.
Sigma Claims Solution
Sigma Claims Solutions has appointed Gregg Lindsay as regional manager of its new Irish office.
Lindsay will provide liability adjusting services for existing customers and help build Sigma's operation in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. He previously worked at Marsh and Ulster Insurance Services.
Assurant Solutions has appointed Jatinder Thethi as client relationship manager and Adrian Skeete as market research and intelligence manager.
Thethi joins from Genworth Financial, where he was client servicing manager.
Skeete joins from Citicorp, where he was responsible for operational, competitor and market analysis in the mortgage and personal loans markets.
Nigel Asplin joins Budget on 15 September as director of its affinity arm, Junction.
Currently group general insurance director at Bradford & Bingley, Asplin is no stranger to Junction, which provides the operational capability for Bradford & Bingley's home and car insurance products.
Junction has aggressive plans to increase its policy numbers to one million over the next three years. On joining, Asplin's priority will be to oversee the delivery of its partner strategies.
Asplin said: "The success that I have achieved with insurer partners to date, coupled with the scale of Junction's activity, should create some exciting opportunities."
With three young children, Asplin's leisure time is limited. He is, however, an avid Arsenal fan, an occasional golfer and, having lived in Brighton for four years, a strong advocate of 'life on the coast'!
