Vega Insurance ServicesUK commercial broker Vega Insurance Services has made three executive appointments as part of its move to larger offices in Bristol.Steve Giles joins as operations director from The Folgate Partnership, where he was group sales director. He has 20 years' operational management experience.Ronan McKeown joins as finance controller. He has 17 years' industry experience, gained with Endsleigh Insurance. Samantha Davies joins as executive assistant from Hill House Hammond, where she spent 11 years in a number of management roles.

Bridge Insurance BrokersBridge Insurance Brokers has appointed Andrew Rowley as strategic director of the credit risk division. Rowley has 19 years' experience as a specialist credit insurance broker. He previously worked at Marsh, where he was the trade credit practice manager of the Manchester office and head of the national claims team.

Jelf GroupPhilip Wilkinson has joined The Jelf Group as commercial account executive to launch a new business initiative.Wilkinson was previously an account executive with Heath Lambert Group. He has 30 years' experience as a national broker.

Insurers

Primary Broker ServicesScott Hallett has joined Primary Broker Services as business development manager responsible for the Midlands area. Hallett's role will be to maintain and develop a number of broker relationships across the region. He was previously an area development manager with AIUA.

Combined InsuranceAccident and health broker Combined Insurance has appointed Tim Thirlway as senior market research executive.Thirlway has 15 years' experience within the marketing and market research industry, including positions held at Toyota GB, NOP, Skybridge Group and Lorien Focus.

Fusion InsuranceFusion Insurance has made several appointments to its business development team to focus on broker partnerships.Andrew Fleming has been appointed as regional sales manager, based in Glasgow. He is responsible for developing relationships with brokers in Scotland. He was previously director, group client services for Senior Wright.Paul Lee joins as executive manager. He will be responsible for developing business in the North West as well as running the Manchester branch. He joins from Ecclesiastical Insurance, where he was regional manager. In Bristol, Scott Brown has taken the position of executive manager. His role will involve managing the Bristol operation, which covers the South and West. Brown was previously director at Bruce Stevenson Risk Management.

HighwayHighway has appointed Alan Rice as key account manager.Rice's previous roles include sales director at Shakespeare Underwriting, national development manager at Folgate Insurance and numerous management positions at AXA.

Ecclesiastical InsuranceEcclesiastical Insurance has appointed Mike Mintram to the newly created role of head of strategic marketing. Mintram previously held roles at Zurich Financial Services, American Express and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

QBEQBE has recruited eight new members to its trade credit team.Ruth Copperwheat and Samantha Deakin were previously underwriters at Amlin Credit. Andy Gardner was previously a claims assessor at Amlin Credit. Sara Lawton joins from R&SA, where she was risk manager for professional risks. Angela Sood joins from HSBC Insurance Brokers, where she specialised in political risk. Chris Trowbridge, Martin Penn and Simon Wagstaff were previously risk analysts at Amlin Credit.

IlliumIllium Syndicate 4040 has appointed Frederica Everett as trainee underwriter.Everett has a business management degree, and has done work experience at Illium and Close Brothers.

Eg SolutionsOperations management solution provider eg solutions has appointed Jon Pyke as non-executive director. Pyke is the founder and chairman of The Process Factory. He has worked in the IT industry for 30 years.

VeriSIMVeriSIM, a provider of IT solutions to the financial services sector, has appointed Mervyn Farrant as non-executive chairman.Farrant worked for major computer manufacturers including Unisys and ICL until 1978, when he created his own software development company for the life and pensions market, K3 Group.

Universal Vehicle ServicesUniversal Vehicle Services has appointed Rob Hatfield as business development director.Hatfield has 25 years' experience in the motor industry. He spent the past 16 years with Fiat Auto UK in a variety of roles, including regional director, fleet sales.

ICSInsurance Compliance Services (ICS) has appointed Charles Maddocks as marketing manager. Maddocks was previously one of ICS's 14 consultants, providing compliance support for brokers in the South East.

RAC Claims ServicesRAC Claims Services has promoted Steve Rigby to the newly created role of head of operations, claims services. Rigby has been with RAC since 2001, and previously led its accident services business. Vic Dhillon joins RAC Claims Services in the newly created role of head of client management, claims services. Dhillon has 10 years' experience in the financial insurance industry, most recently as general manager, UK for GE Financial Insurance Europe.

Argent Liability AdjustersArgent Liability Adjusters has recruited Stuart Carr as manager of its Manchester branch.Carr has 13 years' experience of employers' liability and public liability adjusting.

Paul RyanMaidstone and Birmingham-based loss adjuster Carmichaels has appointed Paul Ryan as manager of its Brighton office. Ryan has been a loss adjuster for more than 20 years. He has held senior positions with Thomas Howell and the Ashworth Mairs Group. He specialises in business interruption, commercial and subsidence claims.Ryan said: "This appointment is an ideal opportunity to return to full-time hands-on adjusting."He is an avid sailor, racing dinghies in winter, and sailing a cruising yacht during the summer with his family.
