Groupama Insurances has appointed Cathie Bruce to the role of distribution and customer service director.

Bruce will replace Amanda Blanc who left Groupama for Towergate in January.

Bruce moves up from her previous position as head of customer proposition and will take up her new duties with immediate effect.

Groupama said Bruce will be responsible for the group's overall business development, agency and customer service strategy, together with the development strategy at Groupama Healthcare, the group's specialist health insurance subsidiary.

Bruce will also retain responsibility for proposition development including the Group's ‘e-trading' plans and will continue to lead Groupama's involvement with the Imarket initiative.

Bruce has appointed Derek Findlayson as UK business development manager with responsibility for the Intermediary, Partnership and Healthcare Solutions teams.

Bruce joined Groupama Insurances in October 2004 from IPRS where she was a main board director responsible for the marketing and business development activity across the IPRS Group.

She has previously worked for Fortis and has held senior
management positions at Marsh and Endsleigh.
