Initiative headed by commercial operations manager Louise Colledge

Groupama Insurances has rejigged its Manchester commercial underwriting operations.

The insurer has created six teams to help their partner brokers.

The initiative is being headed by Groupama commercial operations manager Louise Colledge.

An e-trading team will support brokers using Groupama’s extranet, Optima Online. The new team will guide brokers through the process of placing business online to make sure they get the most of the process. They will also handle referrals for non-standard business.

Groupama has set up a new business team to handle more specialist manually-traded business. The team will have dedicated underwriters and mobile development underwriters.

Another underwriting team will deal with existing business and renewal activity, while a separate group will handle scheme arrangements and mid-term adjustments.

Groupama has also made two fleet teams, with one focusing on small fleet business.

Groupama head of commercial underwriting Dawn Dillaway said: “We want to grow our panel of supporting brokers and be even closer to them in order to provide easier access to our underwriters and key decision makers.

“The UK’s commercial lines market is fiercely competitive and is essential that we are organised to allow us to respond more quickly and effectively to their needs.”
