Lord Levene steps down as chairman in late 2011

John Nelson, chair of FTSE100 property company Hammerson, is believed to be a front-runner for the role of chairman of Lloyd’s, reports City AM.

The current chair, Lord Levene, will step down this year.

Nelson has previously worked at Lazard, Kleinwort Benson and Credit Suisse First Boston. He is currently a front-runner among a list of candidates, according to a report from Sky News.
