Hastings Direct has appointed Mark Adams as chief financial officer.
Adams was previously chief executive of troubled accident management company Helphire Group, which cut 400 jobs last year.
Adams will take up his new role in May, and will report to Hastings Direct chief executive Edward Fitzmaurice.
Fitzmaurice said Hastings was on track for a “possible” IPO in 2012.
Fitzmaurice added: “We are delighted that Mark is joining us as chief financial officer."
