Broker targets expansion with recruitment drive

Hastings Direct is creating 200 new jobs in 2012, the company has announced.

The broker said it is looking to recruit new staff from entry level to senior management.

Hastings HR director Amanda Menahem said: “This year we have enjoyed formal recognition for our people strategy as well as winning awards for our business development and anti-fraud work. As our business expands, we need to fill roles in all areas from finance to facilities, IT, marketing and our call centres.”

The personal lines broker grew by 30% in 2011 and created 400 new jobs.

Hastings was also named Personal Lines Broker of the Year at the Insurance Times Awards earlier this month.

Menahem added: “We are committed to growing our people and continue to invest heavily in staff development; we have doubled our leadership and development programme and will create college leaver and graduate schemes later in the year.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
