Mark Adams quits only a year after joining from Helphire

Hastings Insurance Services is looking for a new chief financial officer following the departure of Mark Adams.

Adams, perviously chief executive of credit hire company Helphire, joined Hastings as finance chief last May. The FSA register reveals that he left the company on 28 May this year.

Hastings chief executive Ed Fitzmaurice told Insurance Times in a statement: “Following the completion of the group restructuring, Mark Adams has taken the decision to leave the group to pursue other interests. I’d like to thank Mark for his contribution over the last 12 months and wish him every success in the future.”

He added: “We are in the process of appointing a new chief financial officer which we will announce in due course.”

In the announcement of Adams’ appointment last year, Fitzmaurice said that Adams’ experience of public markets would be useful as Hastings prepared for its stock market listing.

Hastings had originally intended to float this year, but now says it will only do so when market conditions are favourable.
