Hastings picks AXA Assistance as breakdown provider

AXA assistance has won a five-year deal to provide motor assistance and specialist insurance to customers of broking group Hastings.

Under the deal, AXA Assistance will provide Hastings customers with nationwide breakdown assistance, roadside recovery and home-start services, as well as specialist misfuelling insurance cover.

AXA Assistance will also provide road traffic accident support to Hastings where required. The services and insurance products are underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance, the underwriting arm and a fully-owned subsidiary of AXA Assistance.

Hastings selected AXA Assistance through a tender process.

“We believe this motor assistance package provides Hastings with not only a comprehensive range of relevant services and cover but will also play a part in helping the business to achieve its growth aspirations,” AXA Assistance UK sales director Jason Sparrow said in a statement. “The five-year contract not only makes commercial sense for both organisations but also demonstrates a real willingness to work together for the long term, giving Hastings’ customers that added sense of certainty.”

Hastings head of ancillaries Dec Fisher added: “AXA Assistance has been able to bring together a relevant package of support and backed that up with a strong commitment to our business, with on-going training support to ensure the highest quality of customer experience – from the purchase of the package right the way through to making a claim.”
