Mark Coffey exits following insurer's restructure

Mark Coffey has left Zurich’s UK general insurance division after 29 years at the insurer. Coffey was most recently head of broker personal lines, a role he held for one year.

Coffey's departure, which was revealed on insurancetimes.co.uk on Monday, comes just six weeks after Zurich restructured its UK general insurance business, creating three new units: commercial broker, personal lines and Zurich Municipal.

In personal lines, Zurich brought together its UK direct, personal lines broker, marine and boat and high net worth businesses, which will be headed by managing director Karl Bedlow.

A Zurich spokesman said: “Mark leaves Zurich after 29 years of dedicated service with our very best wishes for the future. He has consistently been an excellent ambassador for Zurich in the market place and he will be missed.”

Meanwhile, Zurich has appointed Ann Haugh as chief executive of global corporate in the UK (GCUK). Haugh was most recently chief operating officer of the Zurich-based global corporate business.

Chief executive of global corporate in Europe, Thomas Hürlimann, said: “Her deep understanding of the corporate marketplace, combined with her global experience, means she is perfectly placed to lead Global Corporate UK and drive it to further growth.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
