Broker names Sharlie Bird as head of Reading and Southampton offices

Heath Lambert has appointed Sharlie Bird as head of office for its Reading and Southampton operations.

The move is set to drive forward Heath Lambert’s continued expansion in the South.

Heath Lambert opened offices in Reading and Southampton in 2005 and 2006 respectively. The combined business had grown by more than 30 per cent at the end of 2007, mainly through new client acquisition.

The offices have in excess of 50 clients in a diverse range of industries and sectors, including Construction, Leisure, Education, IT and Engineering.

Bird joined Heath Lambert in 2006 from Aon, where she was previously the Client Management Director for their South West Region.

She said: “Initially, I joined HLG to focus on client service delivery. As the UK’s leading independent insurance broker, we place great significance on providing a first class local service through our network, and I am delighted to be able to play a key role in expanding the business here in the South.

"The team here has been hand picked for their experience, and I am proud to work with some very well known insurance professionals in the Southern Region.”

Sean O’Brien and Tony Barber have also been recruited to Heath Lambert, and join as Business Development Executives.

Their role is to support Bird in developing the Heath Lambert business further in Reading and Southampton. O'Brien joins Heath Lambert from Aon where he performed various senior roles during the last 12 years, gaining a wealth of knowledge of business across the South.

Barber joins Heath Lambert from Marsh where he focused his attention over the last eight years on meeting the needs of medium sized corporate businesses.
