Insurer backs up new products and business strategy with UK broker tour

Hiscox's senior board members will carry out a UK tour of brokers during May and June as part of its regional strategy.

Under the theme "Face-to-Face", chairman Robert Hiscox and chief executive Bronek Masojada will join head of art and private clients division Charles Dupplin and underwriting director, professions and speciality commercial division, Gary Head. They will present Hiscox's products and business strategy to key broking partners across the country.

The team will visit Leeds, Glasgow, Maidenhead and Birmingham, as well as staging two events in London.

One of the London events, chaired by Dupplin, will focus on high net worth business, while Head will chair the other, focusing on professional indemnity (PI).

Two weeks ago Hiscox launched a new PI product aimed at the SME market, focusing on the IT, business and management consultancy, and communications, marketing and design sectors.

Head said: "Research by Hiscox has found that a high proportion of customers operating at the smaller end of these emerging professions do not buy PI insurance.

"Some 52% of IT consultancies with one to five staff do not have PI cover and the same applies to nearly three in four (72%) of self-employed public relations consultants."

He added: "We hope these face-to-face meetings will give us an opportunity to promote these new products."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
