Howden Insurance Brokers' pre-tax profit dropped
32% to £929,950 for the year ended 30 September 2003.

The broker's 2002 pre-tax profit stood at £1.4m.

Turnover increased to £8.4m, against £6.3m in 2002.

Earlier this year, the Lloyd's broker launched a directors' and officers' and professional indemnity division for UK brokers.

The division, called Howden UK, has a target of £75m in premium by 2007.

According to Howden, profits dropped because the broker closed its Danish and Argentinian operations.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
