Loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsay says it is working closely with its associates in Cuba to respond to claims, after Hurricane Michelle passed within 70 miles of Havana over the weekend.

The company said central Cuba had been hit by sustained winds of up to 125mph and 15in of rain had fallen in the last four days.

Five people were killed and more than 750,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. Buildings collapsed and many parts of the island were without power and communications.
