Cheatline takes first call just 16 minutes after TV interview

The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) said on Twitter that new calls to its Cheatline started at 7.31am on Saturday, just 16 minutes after the IFB’s first BBC TV interview.

The IFB told the BBC it estimates around 30,000 motor accidents were crash for cash last year, costing insurers £350m and adding £44 to the premium of every driver in the country.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
