Insure and Go has said it will remove terrorism exclusion from its travel policies.

Perry Wilson from Insure and Go said: "Up until today for policyholders caught up in terrorist acts we have covered their medical expenses and provided emergency assistance.

“But we have excluded cover in other areas such as personal possessions, travel delay or cancellation.

"Previously we have looked at these claims on a case by case basis. But now we are altering our policies to provide further protection to policyholders directly affected by an act of terrorism when they are travelling too, or holidaying in, countries deemed safe by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office."

The move follows the removal by AIG, which underwrites Insure and Go's travel policies, of war exclusions from its travel and group personal accident policies.
