Argyll's Kevin Young steps up to new group role

Jelf has appointed Kevin Young as group corporate director – Insurance.

Young was formerly chairman of Argyll Insurance Group, which was acquired by Jelf Group plc in 2008. Jelf hopes his appointment will drive the group’s risk management proposition for larger corporate clients.

Young will continue his involvement with Argyll Insurance in a non executive capacity, allowing deputy managing driector Chris Gibson to take over leadership responsibilities as managing director of Argyll Insurance.

Young said: "I look forward to the challenges ahead of me and to playing a leading role in the development of an enhanced proposition for our clients. Our IIC assessment last year was great news for the Group and I am committed to playing my part to obtain a similar result this year."

Gibson continuedL "I am delighted with the opportunity to build Argyll’s presence within the Jelf Group and, following Kevin’s success, taking the business forward."

Alex Alway, group chief executive, added: "Developing the level and breadth of our products and services in response to our clients’ expectations is at the heart of the Group’s continued success. Kevin’s leadership, experience and expertise will be invaluable in this new role. I am also confident that in appointing Chris to the role of Managing Director of Argyll Insurance we will not only benefit from his huge experience within Argyll, but also accelerate our ambitious growth plans for the business.
