John Shepherd made head of motor at Jubilee syndicate 5820

Specialist Lloyd’s insurer Jubilee has appointed John Shepherd as head of motor at Jubilee Syndicate 5820.

Shepherd will be responsible for the performance and development of Jubilee’s commercial motor account which focuses on a wide range of fleets including specialist areas such as small to medium sized family owned coach operators.

Shepherd has previously held senior fleet and commercial motor underwriting roles with a number of insurers including HCC Underwriting Agency and Equity Red Star.

Chris Biles, active underwriter of syndicate 5820, said: “John brings with him a wealth of experience that will directly benefit the development of our motor business. His appointment reflects our commitment to this market and we are delighted to have him on the team.”

Last year Jubilee merged its motor Syndicate 1231 with its Syndicate 5820. Shepherd replaces Julian Cashen who has left the business.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
