Niblett to underwrite kidnap and ransom, product recall and contamination
Liberty International Underwriters Europe (LIU Europe) has appointed Lee Niblett (pictured) as underwriter with its London-based crisis management team.
With a remit covering the UK, USA and Europe, he will underwrite a range of crisis management covers including kidnap and ransom, product recall and contamination. He will report to LIU’s vice-president of crisis management Julie Ross.
Ross said: “We have become a significant global player in the crisis management arena, known for our breadth of products, sound underwriting principles and longevity. Now we have taken the opportunity to really solidify our offering by appointing Lee. With his background in analysis and intelligence, he complements the team’s existing strengths while adding a new dimension in terms of security insight and using data to identify key trends.”
Niblett joins LIU Europe from global security management specialist red24, where he was head of corporate intelligence, responsible for delivering security intelligence and threat assessments to the company’s insurance partners and corporate clients. He focused on kidnapping, extortion and piracy risk, terrorism, and political and criminal threat analysis. He also acted as the lead analyst for red24 during crisis response operations.
Prior to his seven years with red24, Niblett worked for Jane’s Information Group as an analyst at the company’s terrorism and insurgency centre.
