Former Miles Smith underwriter to lead the scheme

Lloyd’s-accredited Direct Insurance London Market (DILM) has struck a commercial combined deal with MS Amlin.

DILM’s can now offer brokers a specially-tailored commercial combined product, with a string of additional features.

The cover is tailored across a range of risks and sectors including manufacturing, wholesale suppliers, engineering, retail and distribution suppliers, office-based organisations and property owners.

DILM also offers cover for non-standard risks that typically fall outside of the composite appetite.

Former Miles Smith commercial combined underwriter Richard Brown, now senior property underwriter at DILM, will head the scheme.

Brown said: ”This new scheme marks the start of an exciting development opportunity at DILM. The management team has provided the backing required to develop a range of new schemes for the UK broker market and importantly the resource to service their requirements efficiently.”

Chief executive David Bearman said: “At DILM we understand the importance of specialism and producing tailored products to meet our clients individual business needs.

“The commercial combined product is designed to give brokers access to flexible underwriting, technical expertise, dedicated support and financial stability.”

The deal is the latest in a number of exciting developments at Direct Insurance in the last 18 months.

It launched an MGA in June last year, Novus Underwriting.

Only a few months earlier, it hired ex-CNA man Peter Mousley to spearhead the launch of its property treaty division at Rokstone Re-Treaty.
