Insurer Chubb has lost a further senior employee, with the departure of the company's London branch manager Maureen Higdon, Insurance Times has learned.

Higdon, who had been with the insurer for over 25 years, was formerly Chubb's UK and Ireland manager.

In a statement, Chubb said Higdon's contract had come to an end on 15 January and that as a result she had left the company. The insurer is in the process of appointing a successor.

A Chubb underwriter told Insurance Times: "This is the latest in a long line of experienced staff to have departed. Maureen was a well respected, popular and vibrant leader."

Others to leave Chubb recently include John Taylor and Mark Appleton, who last month joined CNA. Appleton ran both the UK and Ireland casualty department and the risk management operation at Chubb, while Taylor had a variety of roles, including UK & Ireland manager.
