Lloyd’s broker Lonmar has hired former Marsh executive Brian Watkins as a divisional director in its Lonbinder binding authority team.

Watkins was previously a real estate client executive at Marsh for 13 years. Before that he was a property owners underwriter at Aviva for nine years.

In his new role at Lonmar, Watkins will report to divisional managing director of agency services Greg Snelling.

He will focus on managing relationships with exiting key clients and developing new property owners business.

Lonmar chief executive David Pexton said: “Brian is a great addition to our specialist binding authority team, Lonbinder, with considerable property market experience gained from working as both senior underwriter and broker.

“We have an ongoing strategy of strengthening each of our specialist areas. Brian, with his vast experience and expertise, will be an invaluable asset to Lonmar in supporting our clients and further expanding our Binding Authority property portfolio.”

Watkins added: “I am thrilled to be joining a successful, client focused independent broker such as Lonmar, and look forward to being part of a dynamic growing business, which is already a market leader in binding authorities in the London market.”
