Senior placing broker Kevin Dower has joined Lucas Fettes as part of its continued expansion. In his new role, Dower will place business for the whole group, which has eight offices across the UK.

The appointment comes only weeks after Lucas Fettes received its provisional Lloyd's accreditation and the takeover of HMB, signifying the group's commitment to growth.

Dower brings some 35 years of experience in the Lloyd's market to the role, most recently at Cobra London markets where he spent five years, running its numerous binding authorities, and broking UK and Irish property and liability business.

For a number of years, Dower specialised in medical malpractice and professional liability including working with pharmaceutical companies such as Eli Lilly, SmithKline and Bayer.

His experience in North America includes working with innovative programs such as the excess of loss treaty, put together for Princeton Insurance Company, the third largest writer of medical malpractice in the US.

David Lee, director at Lucas Fettes, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the team. He brings with him a deep understanding and wealth of broking experience and we're pleased to have someone of his calibre join the group.

"His appointment gives us an added dimension to our existing offering, and his years in the industry make him well qualified to take on this challenging role.”
